If Duane doesn't get the job, here are a few people who might make good, or at least amusing, radio play-by-play people for the home team:
Jimmy Piersall
T-Buff*
David Paul, former local AM weirdo
Gordon Solie*
Ralph from Ben Hill, another former local AM weirdo
Singer John Wesley Harding, best between-song banter ever
Stephen Colbert
The voice on the train at Hartsfield-Jackson
Austin Idol
Alan Greenspan
That dude who sits in right field for every game and dresses up like an Indian
The singing beer vendor who apparently no longer works at the Ted
Rupaul
Louis who plays the accordion and hangs out at George's in Virginia-Highlands
Me
CB
Any loyal Office reader
Of course, please submit your suggestions.

ugh, I could not listen to Tony Schiavone do play-by-play. I seem to remember him advocating cheating in one of his ever-insightful postgame shows a few years back...

I'm not sure there'd be a whole lot of differences between Gordon Solie and Larry Munson.

I vote for Gordon Solie, even though he's dead, and the old Cylon airport train voice, not the new lame one. David Paul would be also be great.
My suggestions are Ken Nordine, Wesley Willis*, and Mell Tillis.

I've never heared Schiavone's baseball work, but he broadcasted wrestling, Clearly not someone I would consider for baseball. Unless they start scripting the outcomes. It'd make Pete Rose happy!

hahahaha...i would be in stitches if it was David Paul...would they start having Kiss My Butt Fridays on the radio?

CD forgot a no-brainer: Walter Banks.

Tony Schivanoe's awful. I hated him on Braves post-game. Annoying voice, no insight, nothing to offer.

Gordon Solie may work. The voice of the Gwinett Braves is Tony Schiavone, formerly of WCW.
