Establishing Corky's place in history

In 58 AB's, Corky Miller has five hits -- four singles, one HR. Let's assume he gets two more AB's this season. Let's likewise assume he gets no more hits.

When's the last time a player with 60 AB's finished with a batting average under .100? (Corky currently checks in at .086.)

I hope someone looks this up. Corky deserves his place in infamy.

Last player to "achieve" the feat was Enrique Cruz, who went 6/71 (.085) in 2003 for the Brewers. Coincidentally (or ironically, as a distressing large number of professional journalists would now say), Enrique Cruz was a teammate of Corky on....the 2008 Richmond Braves!

Under .100 has happened a few other times, most notably by Ron "Carlton Fisk's Knees" Karkovice, who managed to go 6/85 (.071!) in the juiced ball year of 1987.
