Tracy Ringolsby reports that Tim Lincecum can be had for a "quality bat." Does KJ qualify as such? If so, I'd make that deal in a minute. (Not that I want to trade KJ, but I'm not going to insult the Giants by throwing out names like Brandon Jones or Scott Thorman.)
Lincecum, a potential ace, was 7-5 with a 4.00 ERA in his rookie season. Not great, but look closer and you see signs of dominance. In 146 IP, the Orel Hershiser look-a-like struck out 150; opponents batted only .226 against him. His walks were a bit high, not uncommon for a 22-year-old.
I'd even do KJ and Chuckie for Lincecum. A lot to give up, but it's rare to find a pitcher like Lincecum (great talent, and five years away from free agency) on the market. Lillibridge and Prado could suffice at second, and instead of signing Glavine the Braves could use that money for a center fielder.
If Ringolsby's got his facts straight, I make this Priority #1.

Hell yes! Assuming that's true, I would be all over it. I've already stated here that Lincecum and Miller are my two favorite kid pitchers, with Jurrjens close behind.

Does seem too good to be true, as valuable as pitching is these days. Go for it!

Living in the Bay Area, I don't think that Sabean is dumb enough to trade Lincecum for just a quality bat. Kid looks like he is going to be a star. Are we sure the writer of that article didn't mean Noah Lowry?
