Finally, something good to say about Kenny Rogers

The Gambler fired Scott Boras, just a couple of days after A-Rod pushed The Giant Asshole (TM) out the door. This could bode well for the Bravos, who have Boras client Mark Teixiera due for free agency after next season. Let's hope Tex follows the lead of two of baseball's most unlikeble chaps.

The ONLY reason to have Boras as your agent is to get the maximum possible dollar. Other considerations, like family, location, contending for championships, quality of the organization, are immaterial to him. But now two of the most self-centered players of recent years have bailed on him because he no longer can deliver on his promises. And I think the Braves have made an overture to Lowell to put pressure on Texeira. His wife wants to stay in Atlanta, and if the Braves sign Lowell, that won't happen, and everybody knows that. Under the circumstances, I wouldn't be all that surprised for Tex to agree to a deal in the next few weeks, after basically telling Boras to piss off.

Pretty cool to see Boras having to eat some humble pie. Perhaps A-Rod took notes from when Andruw and his Daddy did an end-around on Boras when Jones re-sgned with the Bravos following the '01 season.

As for Bucky Woy, I've always blamed that toad looking son of a bitch's negotiating tactics for causing Bill Lucas' fatal brain hemorrhage. Call me unreasonable but that's how I feel...

Whatever happened to Bucky Woy?
